General Federation of Nepalese Trade Union GEFONT Udayapur district concluded fundamental trade union education and the Social Security program on June 1 and 2 in Katari and Triyuga Municipality.
The program, Deputy Mayor of Katari sub municipality Gita Khadka, and GEFONT National committee member Maya Bhandari were present at the program while GEFONT Vice President and Head of Education Department Bidur Karki were present as a chief guest.
The program has formed the 9 members GEFONT Katari local committee under the presidency of Santa Bahadur Tamang.
Similarly, in the program at the assembly hall of Nepal Nijamati staff union in Triyuga Municipality on June 2, GEFONT Vice President Bidur Karki addressed the audience as the chief guest, shedding light on the fundamental trade union education and Contribution-based Social Security program.
The program was chaired by GEFONT local committee President Jash Bahadur Rai while Deputy Mayor of Katari sub-municipality Gita Khadka and GEFONT National committee member Maya Bhandari were present at the program.
GEFONT Support Group Kuwait (GSG-Kuwait) and Kuwait Trade Union Federation jointly organized a program on June 19th to educate Nepalese migrant workers about insurance coverage in case of job-related accidents in Kuwait and the program aimed to raise awareness about their rights under Kuwaiti labour laws during unfortunate workplace incidents.
Kuwaiti representative Junaid Abudi and legal experts from Kuwait informed the participants about the health and safety of migrant workers and the provisions of accident insurance under Kuwaiti labour laws.

General Federation of Nepalese Trade Union (GEFONT) Lumbini province committee formed the 9 members municipal committee in Ghorahi sub-metropolitan of Dang district on June 5 under the presidency of Keshav Bahadur Bhandari.
On the occasion, GEFONT vice president and Social Security Department head Kamal Gautam appealed to the workers to join the contribution-based social security.

In a foreign employment process, Yama Bahadur Chand, who was working in Malaysia, tragically passed away on Jestha 2. The Nepal Trade Union Confederation (GEFONT) took the initiative and coordinated with the Nepali embassy in Malaysia to repatriate his body to Nepal.
To bring the body of the late Chand to Nepal GEFONT Migrant Desk collaboration with the Nepalese Embassy in Malaysia. Janak B.K. the coordinator of the GEFONT Migrant Desk informed that they delivered the body to the deceased's house without any charges on behalf of the General Federation of Nepalese Trade Union (GEFONT). Late Yam Bahadur Chand has a wife with one daughter and one son.
Kantipur United Struggle Committee organized a program on 28th June 2080 at Kantipur Publications. The joint struggle committee of the workers and employees belonging to four unions, including Impression Nepal, protested with 7 different demands before the manager of Kantipur Publications.
In the event, Impression Nepal's President Balgopal Thapa underscored that all employees and workers here should have their rights, privileges, and benefits as per the Journalist Law. He stressed that if these rights aren't upheld as mandated by law, we possess the capability to hold management accountable and enforce them. Balgopal Thapa affirmed Impression Nepal's commitment to supporting such actions for ensuring rightful rights and benefits for employees.
The Kantipur Struggle Committee has included the following 7 demands - the full enactment of the Journalist Law and the complete dissemination of the Honorable Supreme Court's verdict, ensuring provisions for severance pay as per the Journalist Law upon resignation, compensation arrangement in case of employee layoffs as per the Journalist Law and regulations, provision for home leave and sabbatical leave, establishment of a welfare fund, and inclusion in the social security fund right from the initiation of service, among others.
