On 11th of August, the GEFONT Kathmandu District Coordination Committee organized a gathering of leading activists at the GEFONT School, Anamnagar, under the chief guestship of GEFONT President Binod Shrestha.
Addressing the gathering, President Binod Shrestha shed light on the tasks directed by the 12th meeting of the National Congress Delegate Council held in Kathmandu on July 30 and 31.
President Shrestha emphasized that in the changing world of work, the trade union movement must also transform and move forward. He stressed that the mentality of separating society from the labour movement should be abandoned.
Likewise, GEFONT Vice-President Sita Lama highlighted that labour movement leaders must adapt themselves with time, and to influence political parties through the labour movement, the organization must be strong. She added that for the organization to be strong, leadership should focus on developing its capacity.
Similarly, GEFONT Bagmati Province President Ramhari Nepal said that only by strengthening the local-level structures can the entire trade union movement be strengthened. GEFONT Vice-President Jitendra Shrestha, member Suman Parajuli, and other leaders attended the event.
The program was chaired by GEFONT District Coordination Committee Coordinator and Bagmati Province Acting Secretary Gopal Karki, and was conducted by Secretary Krishna Lal Shrestha.

The 8th meeting of the Publicity and Publication Department of the General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT) was held on 13 August 2025 under the chairmanship of Vice President Jitendra Shrestha.
The meeting prepared a plan to implement the tasks adopted by the 12th National Congress Delegate Council Meeting of GEFONT.
In the meeting attended by GEFONT President Binod Shrestha and General Secretary Laxman Sharma, newly appointed department member Amar Dhoj Lama was also administered the oath of office and secrecy.
The GEFONT Madhesh Province Women’s Committee organized a Teej greetings exchange program on 16 August 2025 at the provincial office in Simara.
The program was held under the chief guestship of GEFONT Vice President and Madhesh Province Public Accounts Committee Chairperson, Manju Thapa Magar, with the presence of Province President Kamlesh Jha, CPN (UML) Province Secretariat Member Sundar BK, and other guests.
The extended meeting of the CPN (UML) Workers' Special District Committee was held on 15 August 2025 at the GEFONT Hall under the chairmanship of President Tulshi Siwakoti.
In the meeting, UML Politburo Member and GEFONT President Binod Shrestha said that GEFONT’s struggle has been for class rights, and he further emphasized that everyone affiliated with the Special District Committee should be active with a positive mindset.
In the meeting, UML Valley Special Province Committee In-charge Sujita Shakya shed light on the relationship between party work and party organization within mass organizations; UML Valley Special Province President Prem Parajuli spoke about the role and importance of the party in the trade union movement; and UML Workers' Special District Committee In-charge Sita Lama spoke on the context of the upcoming Statute Convention.

Through Arjun Security Company, 35 workers working as security guards at Purbanchal University in Gothgaon, Morang District, have been affiliated with GEFONT.
At a program held on 15 August 2025, GEFONT Koshi Province Committee President Kishor Dhamala provided GEFONT membership and highlighted GEFONT’s policies and programs, contribution-based social security, minimum wages, and related issues.
