On the occasion of the 25th International Youth Day (August 12), the Youth Committee of the General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT) organized an interaction program on the theme “Rights of Young Workers, Far-Right and Populist Provocations” on 12 August 2025 at the GEFONT Hall.

Chief Guest, GEFONT President Binod Shrestha, stated that all major changes in the world are driven by the power of youth, and stressed that young workers must take the lead in addressing the challenges seen in Nepal’s labour market.

He urged young people to abandon the mentality of indulging in popularity and doing anything for cheap fame, and instead dedicate themselves to the side of truth, continuously working for justice, which ultimately leads to success.

Youth Committee Chair Biki Shrestha shed light on the International Youth Day. The program was conducted by Secretary Bikesh Khadka and the welcome remarks were delivered by Niroj Ghimire.
