GEFONT support group rescues woman from Kuwait

The General Federation of Nepalese Trade Union (GEFONT) Support Group rescued Chandamaya Chepang who went to Kuwait 3 months prior and returned her to Nepal on 6th June.

35-year-old Chepang of Benighat Rorang Ward No. 6 (previously Jogimara VDC) of Dhading District was sent to Kuwait 3 months ago by a local agent, Binod Chepang, under the lie of a free foreign employment visa and a free ticket. According to Chandramaya, after arriving in Kuwait, another agent named Prem of Kuwait sold her to a house owner in Kuwait for $650 after which she found out that she was sent on a visit visa instead.

Chandramaya had requested GEFONT for rescue through a friend when she was demanded 350,000 for her request to go back home after she was unable to work because of illness due to working 18 hours every day at home.
