In October 7, 2004 a Conference of barbers and hairdresser was organised to form Barbers' Trade Union. The union was registered at the Department of Labour in 2005 as 109th National Federation with 6084 members.

The union is focused to safeguard the sectors for its professional rights and address problems like managing local to police administration. The union has been expanded in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and most of the districts of Terai.
