In this episode: 1️⃣ National Workshop on Ending Child Labour A national-level workshop on eliminating child labour in Nepal was held in Lalitpur, organized by the ITUC–Nepal Affiliated Council. Representatives from ITUC-AP, employers, the Ministry of Labour, and SARTUC presented thematic papers. 2️⃣ 8th Contribution-Based Social Security Day GEFONT marked the 8th edition of Contribution-Based Social Security Day — first launched on November 27, 2018, by former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli — by organizing an interaction program on the implementation status and future direction of social security. Programs were held across the provinces: Koshi (Biratnagar), Gandaki (Pokhara), Lumbini (Butwal), Karnali (Surkhet), Sudurpaschim (Kailali), and Madhesh. 3️⃣ Medical Fee Hike for Migrant Workers Despite public opposition, the Government of Nepal increased medical examination fees required for foreign employment. From November 26, 2025, all medical institutions must conduct 34 tests. Fees previously ranged from NPR 3,500–6,500, but Malaysia-bound workers were being charged NPR 9,800. 4️⃣ Gandaki’s Representatives for the CPN-UML National Congress Unanimous selection of trade union representatives for the 11th CPN-UML National Congress has been completed.
