Nepali Embassy in Kuwait urges not to consume risky food and beverages

The Embassy of Nepal in Kuwait issued a press release on 15 August 2025 stating that some Nepalis had died due to the consumption of toxic alcohol and 35 had been hospitalized, urging all not to consume hazardous and risky food and beverages harmful to health.

The press release did not specify the number of Nepalis who lost their lives. However, it is understood that at least nine Nepalis died after consuming toxic alcohol.

The Ministry of Health of Kuwait said that more than 160 people were affected due to the consumption of alcohol mixed with methanol, and among them, 23 had died.
