On 11th of August, the GEFONT Kathmandu District Coordination Committee organized a gathering of leading activists at the GEFONT School, Anamnagar, under the chief guestship of GEFONT President Binod Shrestha.
Addressing the gathering, President Binod Shrestha shed light on the tasks directed by the 12th meeting of the National Congress Delegate Council held in Kathmandu on July 30 and 31.
President Shrestha emphasized that in the changing world of work, the trade union movement must also transform and move forward. He stressed that the mentality of separating society from the labour movement should be abandoned.
Likewise, GEFONT Vice-President Sita Lama highlighted that labour movement leaders must adapt themselves with time, and to influence political parties through the labour movement, the organization must be strong. She added that for the organization to be strong, leadership should focus on developing its capacity.
Similarly, GEFONT Bagmati Province President Ramhari Nepal said that only by strengthening the local-level structures can the entire trade union movement be strengthened. GEFONT Vice-President Jitendra Shrestha, member Suman Parajuli, and other leaders attended the event.
The program was chaired by GEFONT District Coordination Committee Coordinator and Bagmati Province Acting Secretary Gopal Karki, and was conducted by Secretary Krishna Lal Shrestha.
