​JTUCC 4th Conference Concludes : PM Inaugurates the Conference

JTUCC 4th Conference has been concluded in Kathmandu. The Conference has elected new Leadership under the Presidency of Biswanath Pyakurel; President of CONEP.

Inaugurating the Conference Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba said “Workers income must be enough to afford one small family and minimum wage should be Rs 15,000."  He told that Nepali Congress is committed for workers prosperous life. He emphasized that there should not be discrimination between male and female workers wage , so  it is mentioned in law.  

Speaking in the Conference, GEFONT President has drawn attention of the Government on need to review the minimum wage as it is not sufficient for a month. He said “Adoption of New Labour Law and Social Security Act is great achievement and our effort is necessary to implement it.” 

Likewise, NTUC President Khilanath Dahal said “ New Constitution, Labour Law and Social Security Act have significant provisions in favour of workers and still some issues need to incorporate in it. “ 

On the Occasion, ANTUF Acting President Ganesh Regmi, Trade Union Leaders Indra Dev Mishra, Paltan Thakur including other Representatives addressed.
