Workers minimum wage is still not implemented.
General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT) Karnali Province organised tripartite discussion program in Dailekh. Discussion was focused on the workers working in Agriculture Sector.
During the program agriculture workers express they are neglected by the government and still deprive of minimum wages.
Nepal Agriculture Research Council Senior Scientist Dr. Binod Luitel says due to insufficient budget allocated by Government, it became hard to implement the minimum wages and other facilities. But he committed that this fiscal year they will provide the minimum wages to the workers addressed by the government.
Minimum wages declared by Government was Nepalese Rupees 517 whereas workers are getting only Nepalese Rupees 360.
Narayan Municipality Ward President Mr Purna Bahadur Malla said Government have to allocate the budget in the rural agriculture sector that they can have a living wage.
GEFONT Province No 6 President Tej Bahadur GC warns whoever do not obey the law of country they should be punished. And also requested all the workers to be enlisted in Workers Listing Campaign in order to safeguard the rights of minimum wages, OSH, Social Security Scheme.
