Kathmandu, GEFONT Support Groups(GSGs) has celebrated International Migrant Workers Day, 2019 with various programs in different countries. During that time, programs were held in countries including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
The program has been organized on 20 December in Qatar. The program was organized under the presidency of GEFONT Support Group, Qatar President Bhim Taramu Magar, and Overseas Nepali Forum Qatar President Cde. Chanak Pokharel has addressed as a chief guest.
The program has been marked under the theme let’s make an aspiration, not compulsion. Chief guest Cde. Pokhrel as well as GEFONT support group, Qatar's chief adviser Cde. Sheshraj Timilsina,ONF Vice President Cde. Chanilal Rajbanshi, Cde. Hansraj Dhakal, Cde. Bharat Tripathi, Cde. Ramhari Gaire, Cde. Homnath Sharma, Cde. Rakam Rai and other comrades expressed their best wishes with views on the workers’ rights.
Likewise, Cde. Mohammed Ramadan Ali Mia has briefed on the latest issue of Qatar regarding the workers working in Qatar and new labor law.
Participants were welcomed by GSG vice president Cde. Dinesh Katuwal & Musical performance by People's Forum, Qatar.
Similarly, on the occasion of International Migrant Workers' Day, GEFONT support Group, Saudi Arab has organized a program in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Ms. Ambika Adhikari, a Labor attache of the Nepali Embassy in Saudi Arabia addressed the program as a chief guest.
On the occasion, the chief guest of the program also solved the curiosity of the participants. She has also informed about the latest rules and policy of the Nepal Government and made it clear that the Embassy will work on the certification on the leave and facilities, as per the law and the policy.
The program was addressed by GEFONT support group, advisor Cde. Shamsher Tamang, Cde. Ajit Kumar Rai, senior vice president of GSG Saudi, and Treasurer Cde.Ramesh Magar.
Speaking on the occasion, president of GSG Saudi Arabia, Cde. Budiman Biswakarma, highlighted the work of GEFONT. He has further informed about the health problems faced by the workers, He stressed on the need of work towards to minimize the problems.

Likewise, GSG Malaysia has also celebrated the Migrant Workers Day on 22 December 2019 in kuala lumpur. Former Secretary of All Nepal Women's Association Cde. Kalpana Rizal addressed the program as a chief guest.
Chief guest Cde. Rijal, Overseas Nepali Unity Forum and Malaysia President Rajendra Bhandari also addressed the program. Nepalese workers working in different states of Malaysia have participated in the program.
Earlier on 13 December, GEFONT support group Bahrain celebrated migrant workers Day in collaboration with the local trade union. On the culture event Nepali contestant secured the 1st position among 8 nationalities.
Similarly, GSG, Kuwait also organized a program in Kuwait Trade Union's meeting hall in collaboration with Solidarity center. Mr. Ahmad Al-Anji, President of Kuwait Trade Union, Mr. Hassan Al Saline, Mr. Abdul Rahman Al-Kundari of the Munira al-Kandari Solidarity Center spoke about the rights of migrant workers at the program.
On the occasion of International Migrant Workers' Day GEFONT support group coordinator Cde. Ganesh Rawat and others were felicitated & celebrated by cutting the cake.
