IPWUN Marks its 37th Founding Day

Independent Press workers Union Nepal(IPWUN)  has marked its 37th founding day in Manmohan Labour Buliding, GEFONT  Putalisadak. Chief Guest Cde. Bishnu Rimal President of GEFONT, inaugurated the program by cutting the cake.  Speaking in the program , Cde. Rimal said NIPWU has made progress qualatively though this union is quantitatively small comparing to other Unions but it has play significant role in union movement. Hee emphasis that organised workers is power of the union so trade unionist should be more active to boost the union membership

He further said legal action will be taken to those employers who will not provide wage and facilities according to the Law. He informed that with the announcement of amended Labour Law and social security Act by 2016, 90% of labour problems will be solved. And after the declaration of new labour law, pressure will be continuously needed for labour inspection system.

Likewise, speaking in the program UNI Nepal President, Sankar Lamichhane said it is unfortunate that workers always need to give pressure for the implementation of Law and State is not being serious to provide sufficient Labour inspectors.  He added Unity is strength and organised workers can transform many things.

IPWUN President Mahendra Shrestha said technically Press sector is dynamic sector and IPWUN is conducting different trainings on Skill development. Press workers have been earning better in Gulf Countries so this sector growing abroad.

On the occasion, IPWUN has handover 1 hundred 50 thousands rupees collected from IPWUN  Central, Districts  and Enterprises Committees to the GEFONT Solidarity Fund which was
