Employers who are not registered in social security scheme, will be questioned by employee

Kathmandu, GEFONT President Cde.  Binod Shrestha, said that the workers should ask the employers who has not register yet in Social security scheme. He urged such employer should be asked by the employee of the same industries.

He further informs that GEFONT is going to launch the effective implementation of Social Security campaign throughout the country after the May Day. This campaign will create the press to the employer to register in the Social Security Fund.

President Shrestha urged all workers to celebrate May Day grandly as symbol of the Day of Struggle. The day to celebrate with happiness on the achievement and fight for the fulfillment of the remaining demands.Therefore, in the day great participation of the workers has been expected.  He also wishes for safe & decent workplace on the occasion of International Labor Memorial Day.

GEFONT General Secretary Cde.  Janak Chowdhary said 28 April has been marking to express a tribute to workers who died due to accident and occupational diseases & wished for speed recovery to the workers who have been injured in the accident. He further said that, the day is not only to mark but also to create awareness & recognize the risk of the workplace, and should make the workplace safer. For that, workers have to keep informing the employers. He further urged to keep proper data of workplace accident & diseases to figure out situation of safety in workplace.

On the occasion, the preparation of the May Day has also informed by affiliates. This year’s May Day is going to be organized jointly by JTUCC. Likewise, GEFONT is going to celebrate May Day throughout the country.
