GEFONT Bilateral and Tripartite Meeting with International Trade Union Representatives

GEFONT President Binod Shrestha and Vice President Ramesh Badal have attended 107th International Labour Conference in Geneva. During the Conference period 2 - 7 June 2018, they have participated in diferrent  bilateral and tripartite meetings with representatives of various Trade Unions and associated organisations.

During the meeting with ITUC General Secretary of Sharan Burrow, GEFONT leadership informed about the new leadership and GEFONT policy & programme adopted by GEFONT 7th National Congress and also assured that changed in leadership will not affect in its policy. On the Occasion, ITUC General Secretary Sharan Burrow also promised for continue support to GEFONT plan and expected support from GEFONT for ITUC Labor Right Campaign in Saudi Arabia. 

Similarly, In the request of GEFONT a tripartite meeting was organised with Guy Ryder, General Director of the International Labor Organization (ILO). In the Tripartite Meeting, Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security of Nepal Gokarna Bista expected support of ILO in employment creation, Social Security and Labor Law implementation. He further  informed that Nepal is working for elimination of  Child Labour by 2020.

Likewise, in the meeting with Ambet Yuson-General Secretary of BWI, Jorgen Assens -Representative of LO-FTF Council Denmark along with other TU Leaders, GEFONT shared its policy & programme and discussed   issue of Unity and mutual cooperation.

Meanwhile, GEFONT also discussed issues of bilateral interests with leadership of CGT France, ACFTU, KCFTU,GBFTU, ZENROREN, ILO -ACTRAV , MTUC, CUT Brazil  etc.
