GEFONT Governing Council Member, Cde. Binda Pandey has been elected as the Deputy Member in the Governing Body of the International Labour organization ( ILO) . ILO's 106th Session of the International Labour Conference has elected her third time as the Deputy Member of ILO Governing Body.
Likewise, for the first time Nepal Government has been elected as the Deputy Member in ILO Governing Body. However, Nepali Trade Unions and Employers Representatives have already been elected as Deputy Members. Nepal Government has been lobbying for ILO Deputy Membership and finally elected 50 years after it became member of ILO.
The Governing Body is composed of 56 titular members that includes 28 government, 14 employers and 14 workers and 66 deputy members that include 28 from governments, 19 from employers and 19 from Trade Unions.
A total of 66 member countries will be elected as the deputy member of the organization. Of them, 28 will be elected from the government group, 19 from the private sector and 19 from the representative of labourr unions.
