Social Security scheme is safeguard of hard time: President Shrestha

Kathmandu, GEFONT President said  "The implementation of Social Security scheme will end up unsecured old age situation, unsure future concern & accident treatment of the workers;"  inaugurating the activists  gathering organized by WHIN Province No 5 on 22 December 2018.

President Shrestha further emphasized that,   the current Government is in favor of the working class so workers representation should be insured in all three levels of the government. He further put his query, in province No 5 more than 500 industries has been operating, how many of them do we have enterprise level unions?

He said "to strengthen the foundation of the organization depend on the number of union members,  to increase union members union leaders have the think & make proper  plan. For the prosperous life of the working class it is essential of transformation rather than changing only in the thoughts, for that,  workers have to organized, educated and should manage time as well as institutional initiative is the fundamental needs. Speaking on the gathering, President Shrestha urged Trade Union leaders should dedicate in politics also not only in Trade Union work. 

In the program, GEFONT secretary General Cde. Janak Chaudhary briefed about Social Security Scheme, he has further highlighted on current social security law, achievements, on what workers should aware & he has also mentioned about the workers fundamental rights of the Constitution. Secretary General chaudhariy further emphasized the trade union should focus on the issues of payment by the Banking system, Provident fund & workers registration in social security scheme.

Likewise, addressing in the gathering WHIN President Cde. Ananda Thami said "There has been a lot of a change in the labour market. Launching of social security scheme among 35 million workers is the beginning of a new era. He has informed that the last 15 months union has been focusing  on training & now union will discussed for the concrete plan to move on. He has extended solidarity on workers protest of the Nepal Hydro and Electronic Limited of Butwal & condemned of the employers attitude.

GEFONT Province No 5 President Cde. Hari Karki said" We should have common understanding on social Security Scheme among leaders and activists". He further added, effective implementation of the Social Security Scheme can end the current trend of migration, & GEFONT will be always with workers to resolve the problems.
