GEFONT interaction on From Conflict to Transformation: Debate on Social Economy as Workers Agenda

July 10 – GEFONT has conducted an Interaction Program on “From Conflict to Transformation:   Debate on Social Economy as Workers Agenda“ in Nagarkot, Bhaktapur. The Program was presided by Com.Iswor Pokhrel , General Secreatary , CPN(UML). The aim of the program was to release and analytical interaction of  the book named “From Conflict to Transformation”.

The Book has been prepared based on the outcomes of the a 3 days high level interaction and panel discussion on “Model of Trade Unionism in New Nepal with special reference to CA and issues of Nepali state” in April 2007.

GEFONT president Bishnu Rimal highlighted   the 3 days high level interaction held in Dhulikhel three years ago and shared on how it was possible to prepare the book. Com. Ghanashyam Bhusal presented analytical review of the book.

During the Program Prof. Dev Raj Dahal , Head of FES Nepal presented  a comparative analysis of the situation before 2006 Nepali movement with present National context and highlighted on possibilities.

On the occasion, Distinguished personalities from Trade Unions,  political Party & academics addressed the program and participated in open interaction .

During the program a documentary Rhododendron Revolution was also screened.

Altogether 75 participants from Trade Union, Political party, Academia, Media and civil Society participated in the program
